Lead, Quality Engineering

The FAA Repair Station Manager Chief Inspector is responsible for coordinating with Engineering, Operations, Quality, Planning and Program Offices to make informed decisions related to aircraft airworthiness.
Position assists with the directing and orienting of site inspectors (both production and Quality) to execute their work in accordance with the Repair Station procedures and ensuring compliance to FAA regulations.

Essential Functions:
Ensures the highest quality service, safety standards and performance, with the objective of exceeding customer satisfaction in the on-time delivery of airworthy, reliable, clean aircraft and components.
Regularly communicate with FAA FSDO on matters related to Repair Station activities.
Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Coordinate revisions to the Quality Control Manual through the responsible Flight Standards office.
Research Aircraft Service Bulletins & Airworthiness Directive for applicability / program impact.
Establish standards and procedures for the repair station inspection system.
Ensure all incoming, hidden damage, preliminary, in-process and final inspections are performed in accordance with Repair Station Manual.
Ensure the designated inspectors are thoroughly familiar with the inspection methods, techniques, aids, tools, and equipment used within their assigned area of responsibility.
Maintain a listing of approved outside contractors, evaluate those contractors as necessary, and coordinate approval of contractors and contracted functions with the FAA.
Coordinate cross-functionally to facilitate return-to-service documentation.
Facilitate Repair Station Training to include course development/revisions, FAA Familiarization Training for New Hires and Repair Station Training Program.
Actively manage the Repair Station Roster, to include repairman certificates, return-to-service, inspection personnel.
Oversee the FAA Drug & Alcohol program to ensure compliance.
Perform / Facilitate routine audits (i.
e.
, Repair Station FSDO audit, DSCO ODA Audit and STC ICA review).
Interface through the ODA Administrator and Accountable Manager to provide guidance to programs certification for FAA projects.
Complies with internal company policies and procedures outlined within the Repair Station Manual, Quality Control Manual and Training Manual.
Communicates effectively and accurately with customers and functional support groups.
Ensure that records of maintenance, inspection, and alterations are maintained in accordance with FAA/Repair Station standards.
Ensures there are no defective, non-conforming, or un-airworthy parts installed in any component or aircraft released to service.
Ensures incoming receiving inspections are performed properly per FAA/Repair Station StandardsExperience managing an FAA Part 145 Repair Station.
May perform other duties as assigned.
Occasional travel may be required.
Ability to obtain Secret Security Clearance.
Excellent written and oral communication skills to effectively interact with all levels of staff from different departments effectively.
Well-developed interpersonal skills that promote and foster a team culture.
Excellent time management, organizational, and problem-solving skills to prioritize workload according to business demands.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience.
Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience.
In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Working knowledge and understanding of the Federal Aviation Regulations.
Proficient in Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Experience as an FAA Chief Inspector in a depot environmentAppropriately certified in accordance with 14 CFR Part 65.
Experience extracting requirements from both Military and Commercial contracts.
Certified auditor.
FAA Airframe & Powerplant licensFAA IA Inspection Authorization #LI-MH1.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
